2. What information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
When you submit the callback form, contact us by phone, or message us on WhatsApp, we collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- The plumbing issue you describe and any details you choose to share
- Your preferred timing for the visit
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical and behavioural information:
- Pages you visit and how long you spend on each
- Approximate location (city / region — not your exact address)
- Device type, operating system, browser and screen size
- Referring source (e.g. Google search, Google Maps, social media)
- Anonymised recordings of your interaction with the site (mouse movement, taps, scroll depth, clicks) — used to identify usability problems
- IP address (truncated where supported by the provider)
We do not collect bank or card details on this site. Payment for completed work is handled offline directly with the customer.
3. Why we use your information and on what basis
We process your data only when we have a lawful basis to do so under UK GDPR:
- To respond to your enquiry and quote, schedule and carry out plumbing work — legal basis: contract (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract) or legitimate interests for general enquiries.
- To improve the website and measure marketing — analyse usage, fix bugs, optimise content — legal basis: legitimate interests. Analytics tools run by default; you can object and opt out at any time via the cookie banner or the button in section 7 below, and your choice is remembered.
- To comply with our legal obligations (e.g. tax and accounting records) — legal basis: legal obligation.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects on you. We do not sell your data to anyone.
4. Who we share your information with
We share data only with the service providers we need to operate the website and deliver our service. Each of them is listed below with the role they play and a link to their own privacy notice.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK (Microsoft and Meta in the United States, PostHog in the United States). Where personal data is transferred internationally, those providers rely on the UK's adequacy decisions, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.
5. How long we keep your information
- Enquiry and job records — kept for up to 7 years to meet UK tax, accounting and warranty obligations.
- Analytics data — retention follows each provider's defaults (Microsoft Clarity up to 13 months, PostHog up to 7 years for events, Meta up to 2 years).
- Server access logs — typically 30 to 90 days.
6. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data, where there is no overriding legal reason to keep it.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- Portability — ask for the data you have provided to be sent to you or another controller in a machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ivoplumbingservice@gmail.com, on +44 7436 042 104 or via WhatsApp. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) work in the same way. We use them for the purposes listed below.
7.1 Strictly necessary
Required for the website to load and work correctly (e.g. remembering your accepted cookie preferences once a banner is in place). These do not require consent.
7.2 Analytics and performance
Used to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These load by default when you visit; if you choose Reject in the cookie banner (or use the button in 7.4), they stop and stay off on future visits. They are loaded by:
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised session recordings and heatmaps.
- PostHog — event analytics (page views, clicks, form interactions).
Both providers mask sensitive form fields by default and do not capture text you type into input boxes.
7.3 Advertising
If we run advertising on Facebook or Instagram in the future, the Meta Pixel records that you visited our site and whether you took an action such as starting a call or sending the form. This helps measure ad performance.
7.4 Managing your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time on this site:
Manage your cookie preferences →
You can also refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not stop the website from working but may reduce the accuracy of analytics about your visit. You can also opt out directly with each provider:
- Microsoft Clarity — controlled via your Microsoft account or Do-Not-Track signals.
- Meta — manage ad preferences in your Facebook account settings.
- PostHog — clear browser local storage to reset.
8. Security
The website is served over HTTPS with a TLS certificate issued by Let's Encrypt. We use reputable service providers who maintain industry-standard security measures. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
9. Children
The website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
